BIOGRAPHY

RUSSIA

After receiving MA's in Fine Arts with a major in Oil painting and

Art history from the Khabarovsk Fine Art & Graphic University Far

East of Russia. I spent the first 10 years in my artistic career as a

teacher in ART College While teaching in Art College I discovered

and fell in love with the mystery and magic of Painting on Silk.

Paining on Silk became my main technique for more than 20 years

now.

UNATED STATES

In 1997, Me and my family decided to move to the US. I arrived in

Denver in 1997 with but a few hundred dollars in my pocket and a

passion for Painting. As difficult as it was to start my career from

scratch in a new country, the artist's talents and incredible work

ethics helped me find my place in the competitive artistic word.

The frolic of creative work, joys and challenges are the true

sources of an artist's happiness and inspiration. My paintings are

exhibited in galleries and art shows and my silk wall hangings are

being purchased extensively for public and private collections.

ABOUT PAINTING ON SILK

Yes, painting on silk is creating art on fabric, with silk as a canvas.

Why silk painting? Each technique has its own beauty. For people

who can enjoy different texture silk is a pleasure for the eyes. The

shimmer and transparency of silk creates a delightful surface,

good to touch when you are wearing peace of silk or to have it as

a painting on your wall.

MY SILK PAINTNGS

My paintings are made of dye and acrylic paint on silk. While

painting, I always use the finest quality Chinese Silk. When

applied, liquid dyes and paints flow and move in a way that is

truly exhilarating to watch! In order to stop this movement, a

material called a resist is used which not only stops the dyes from

moving on the silk, but also creates an outline for the image being

depicted, adding dramatic dimension. Once the painting is

completed, the dyes need to be steam-fixed in order for them to

become color-fast. This also causes the colors to become brighter

and more intense. The piece is then stretched, painted on the

sides, and ready to hang.

I like to work in different genres: still-life, landscape, flowers,

cityscape, fish and ponds as well as symbolic figurative

compositions.

When drawing women's gentle and mysterious images I express

Joy, Peace, and harmony. To me, harmony is poetry of lines and

colors that have a life of its own.

MY FAVORITE THINGS

I live in beautiful, Colorado with my lovely husband, who is also

an artist, my teenage son, and our two sweet cats. Aside from

painting, I like hiking, biking, and cross country skiing on various

trails.

Every day in the morning go to my studio turn on Pandora radio

with my favorite music and forget about all the cares in the world.

I hope you enjoy my shop and images, and will find your own

passion for silk painting as I have.
